Being an active means being proactive about both a life-long learner and teacher. I’ve included teaching in my schedule every semester since Fall of 2019. Both the learning and teaching process complement and inform one another.
The following table outlines subject evaluation scores I’ve earned over the past few years. It’s rated on a 7.0 scale.
Subject | Overall rating | Stimulated interest | Knowledge of material |
---|---|---|---|
20.309 Spring 2024 | 6.9 | 6.9 | 7.0 |
20.309 Fall 2023 | 6.9 | 6.8 | 7.0 |
20.309 Spring 2023 | 6.8 | 6.5 | 6.9 |
20.309 Fall 2022 | 6.7 | 6.8 | 6.7 |
20.330 Spring 2021 | 7.0 | 6.9 | 7.0 |
Numbers alone don’t capture the full picture, so I’ve included a few student remarks to illustrate my teaching philosophy.
Kevin is great! I really like how put-together and consistent his slides were - it made reviewing and tying together concepts a lot easier. He was also really helpful in lab and very knowledgeable.
So helpful! Even when you have stupid questions he’s very nice about it and will answer based on how much you know. He will also check if you actually understand by asking you conceptual questions after, which is helpful for students who feel embarrassed about being behind/not knowing something. You can feel that he’s passionate about teaching, and he really made the class a better experience
very funny and engaging
